I met Hansen in 2016 at Temple University, while I was getting my MFA and he was getting his BFA. Fellow students told me I had to meet Hansen because his incredible work making queer and trans films and organizing social justice events on campus. And once we met, we’ve been collaborating ever since.

When he was making Halloween 1987, his thesis film, a faculty member at our school said he shouldn’t make it because it would be too hard to cast a trans person (this was among several other transphobic comments from several faculty about the story).

Hansen came to me for advice. I encouraged him, consulted on the project, and sat with the editor giving feedback on the cut. I’m so proud of Hansen’s work on this project, one of my favorite BFA films I’ve seen.
