All of Us, NC (2012) - Educational Documentary
I have been calling NC home since 2001 and when I found out there was a coalition of queer movement organizers fighting Amendment One in NC—which ultimately eradicated civil unions in the state—I felt compelled to document it.
Led by Manju Rajendran, the grassroots organizers in All of US, North Carolina centered their work around education, informing North Carolinians that the political focus on gay rights obfuscates other pressing political agendas like fracking, gerrymandering, and deregulatory policies.
Manju asked me to make the film educational for use in classrooms, and we took the film to conferences and classrooms around the country. The film is housed at the Durham Public Library in Durham, NC.
"This heart-warming, community-building film about human dignity and equal rights centers on the North Carolina fight against gay marriage. No matter who wins, the screen is filled with authentic, earnest and loving folk of all colors and ethnicities. It just does your heart good! Watch it, see it, bring it to your neck of the woods. You won't be sorry."

“All of Us NC moved me deeply and gave me an instructive tool to help social justice activists understand that progress comes in many legitimate forms. Watch it to learn how to squeeze the best results out of attack and loss.”
